Pre-Covid: I was an RGN for adults who worked on our COVID ward from March 16 2020 until the end of June 2020, the first wave. I caught covid and was diagnosed with post Covid 19 syndrome in September 2020.
Post-Covid: I was off work until March 2022 then made a phased return, however I was unable to go back to shift work on the General ward.
I was treated by rheumatology as I had autoimmune rheumatoid arthritis, treated with steroids, methotrexate and painkillers. I developed PTSD, depression anxiety. I had atrial fibrillation pre-Covid but this was exacerbated by the infection. I turned 50 last November and I am disabled for life, claiming PIP. I am 50% of the man I was before Covid.
