Study
Eckey M et al. Patient-reported treatment outcomes in ME/CFS and Long COVID. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences U.S.A. 2025; 122(28): e2426874122.
Key message
The survey found substantial similarities in symptoms and treatment responses between Long COVID and ME/CFS. Treatment experiences varied considerably between individuals: pacing and fluids with electrolytes were frequently reported as helpful, while many respondents reported that graded exercise therapy did not help or worsened symptoms. Importantly, this was an observational survey and cannot establish that treatments caused improvements.
