DHSC Response to SHH-UK’s COVID-19 Prevention Letter

On 9 June 2026, Supporting Healthcare Heroes UK and 19 partner organisations wrote to the Minister for Public Health and Prevention, calling for stronger action to prevent COVID-19 infections and reduce the burden of Long Covid. (Our letter can be seen by clicking here.)


The letter below is the Department of Health and Social Care’s response. It outlines the Government’s current position on airborne transmission, infection prevention and control, indoor air quality, respiratory protective equipment and occupational protections for healthcare workers.
