Post-exertional malaise (PEM) is a worsening of symptoms following physical, cognitive or emotional exertion and is experienced by many people with Long Covid. Symptoms can be delayed and may last for days or longer.

In this video from RTHM, experts discuss how to recognise and manage PEM, including navigating a crash, understanding individual limits and using strategies to reduce the risk of triggering symptom exacerbations.
