PoTS Common in Long Covid Patients

A study of 467 non- hospitalised adults with severe Long Covid found that 31% met diagnostic criteria for Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS), most of whom were younger women (91%). Those with PoTS had lower physical activity levels, higher heart rates, and reduced walking distances compared with non-PoTS patients, though their overall symptom profiles were similar.

The findings show that PoTS is common and clinically significant in Long Covid, underscoring the need for systematic assessment and tailored management.
